    Air Force Academy- Getting in?

Hey- I'm fairly new to this site and was looking around and had some questions.  First off, I am seriously considering going to USAFA.  I would someday love to fly a fighter jet and am a very motivated person and plan on going there.  My current GPA is about a 3.3 (however I plan on getting that up to a 3.5), and I do several sports.  I'm also involved in several clubs at my high school, not to mention being an Eagle Scout, and working a job.  I've also contacted my congress man as well.  Has anyone been through the USAFA and know a thing or two about getting accepted?  This would be VERY helpful.  One last thing, I'm about 6'2", is this too tall to be in the Academy??  I had heard something about that.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!                -Andrew-

I was accepted to the Air Force Academy this year.  You're not too tall.  I have a friend who went to the same high school as me that is in the AFA right now who is taller than you.  You can still be a pilot at that height to I believe.  Get the best grades you can and be as involved in everything as you possibly can.  If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

The real answer is your sitting height for pilot training.  That's the height from your butt to the top of your head.  The reason is for the ejection seats.  So, if you have long legs and a short frame you'll be ok.
