• Re: How do I apply from China??

Usually flying and parachute programs are entirely voluntary...and are competitive to get into. Now, if you mean ''will I be required to pilot an aircraft?'' the answer is probably not. If you mean, ''Will I be required to fly somewhere?'' the answer is yes. The Academy is a college. You will get your B.S. degree ...

What is it you want to do?

  • Re: Airforce Academy help!!

Posting in the Air Force Academy section will help... Your grades are a bit low (avg. is a 3.8), but you have taken tough classes, which might help a little. Do you have much leadership in your extracurriculars? That is important. Your sports and E.C.s look good, but leadership and test scores are also important (can you list ...

  • Re: NAVY V. USAF

Which branch has more combat aircraft? I'd put my money squarely on the USAF for sheer numbers. If you want to talk percentages, it would problably go to the Navy.

  • Re: USAF Flight Career

I don't know exactly what the ANG does for getting into piloting or how the commissioning/transfer program works to the AD USAF. I would usually recommend AFROTC, but I don't know if the ANG is a better deal for you. I would do some research and talk to your university's AFROTC commander, if your college has a detachment or cross-town ...

  • Re: USAF Pilot

What program are you going through? Class 1 for the ARMY?...I'm pretty sure the AF Class 1 is slightly different. I don't know a whole lot about legal issues. I would recommend military.com forums (or maybe the site itself) for some poeple with more experience.

  • Re: Any way to become a USAF pilot w/out going to college??

Officers have a B.S. or B.A. degree at a minimum, and only officers are pilots in the USAF. There are a lot of ways to get a degree, but you still will need one. The army uses Warrant Officers for most of their helicopter pilots, so you would just recieve special training for that.

  • Re: Meps and Medical Records

Don't lie on your questionaires! There is a good chance that it will come back and bite you. I had a friend with asthma go to boot camp. He had an attack and was separated...not good. Don't sacrifice your integrity, ever!

  • Re: AFROTC pilot ratio

AFROTC usually graduates about 1200 people each year and usually recieves 400-500 pilot slots (last number I heard). The number of pilot slots differs each year, according to the needs of the AF. When you select what track (fighter/bomber, heavy, helo) and when you select which airframe, the numbers are, again, based on the needs of the

  • Re: do i have a chance to become a pilot ???????????????????

Look into either Air Force or Navy ROTC at your college.
