    Still looking for pic RUN

    *** Posted by Rapier ***
    Hi RUN,

Im still looking for the engine pic but it is very difficult to find. I am going to e-mail 'Pratt & Whitney' to see if they have got one in their archives so hopefully they will send me one.

By the way love the search facility.

    Regards

Yep I tried that, thats why I like it because it also gives you the most recent message posted. Cool! By the way RUN about the engine... Could you tell what type of F-16 engine it is by looking at a picture? Reason being is that I may have found a pic (a photo, not cross section diagram unfortunately)which I know is out of an F-16 but it did not say what type/model of F-16 engine it is.

I'll send it to you anyway ok.

I've put the picture here so other can see it. The picture shows a PW 220 engine. The 220 has a very poined nosecone & the 200 has a round one.

I have e-mailed Pratt & Whitney for the pic

    Hej RUN,

Sorry it was not the engine you were looking for RUN. I have e-mailed just about everyone in the Pratt & Whitney company on your behalf so hopefully they can send me exactly what you are looking for as I did specifically ask for a 200 pic. If they reply I'll send it straight to you ok.

    I'm glad it's a PW-200

    *** Posted by Rapier ***
    Hi RUN,

Oh that's good news! What is the other engine by the way? Is it the PW-220? It was quite difficult to find RUN, I thought there would be plenty of F-16 engine pic's. I even searched under "F-16 engine maintenance" and there was nothing, not one pic of the engine.

I think it would still be a good idea to keep the PW-220 engine up so people can see the differences of the two engines. It would also be nice RUN if you could explain the improvements to the 220 over the 200 like some you have mentioned about the 220 being more forgiving etc etc.

    Thanks
