• Re: a good question

What kind of surgery are you talking about. If you are talking about eye surgery then yes it would stop you but most other regular types of body surgery (except for extreme circumstances) would not disqualify you from being a pilot.

  • Re: is it still possible for me to be a Pilot

Although your gpa is an important it isn't the deciding factor. You can compensate for having a low gpa by doing outstanding in other activities such as sports or extracurriculars.

  • Re: Vision requirements????

Whatever you do, DO NOT get PRK or LASIK done privately. It is disqualifying if you get it done privately, but not if you let the military do it for you.

  • Re: Academy or ROTC?

USAFA, if there are less pilot spots then they will be taken from USAFA before they choose from ROTC. I think this year's graduating class had 500 of the first-classmen go to pilot training, not all will fly fighters mind you, out of the 1,000 or so graduating first-classmen. In summation, definitely USAFA.

  • Re: Air Force Academy Admissions

I also read on another site that you need to have some kind of involvement in student government. I haven't really read about student government being a must on other sites that I have looked at. Do you have any advice?

  • AIM-9X

I was wondering if you guys had any information about the AIM-9X. I've seen it mentioned in books but I don't have any real information about it. I read that it is the US's response to the ASRAAM. Is there just a bigger warhead or just a seeker head upgrade? Thanks

  • Chances of being a fighter pilot

I was wondering about what percent of people that actually try out for becoming a pilot actually make it? Is there a certain regimen of things that you should do to be able to further your chances? I've seen all of the things on the sites but that's really general and not very specific. I also was wondering what your chances ...

  • Re: Air Force Academy Admissions

Thanks for your help, I was also wondering how hard it is to get a scholarship for sports to the academy? Is it more competitive or less competitive than other colleges.

  • Block 50/52

I just wanted some information on the new Block 50/52. I saw a picture of it in a magazine and it looked very different from all of the other production types. I was wondering about avionics upgrades, engine upgrades etc... I was also wondering about changes to the airframe because that's what made it look different from the other
