Probably 4 years of college, and you'd have to be relatively good at math, yes.

4 years.  You could either go to the Air Force Academy for 4 years and be commissioned an officer, or you could get a bachealors degree at any college and then apply for a pilot slot; either way you'll probably be doing 4 years of college.

i am a high school senior and need some help making some final decsions on a good school to go to after high school to become a commerical airline pilot i am looking into embry-riddle but it is expensive if anyone knows of anything just as good of a school and cheaper please let me know and give me opinions on embry-riddle itself.

Is it too late?  No.  I am USMC reserve who wanted to be a pilot in the Marines but I decided  not pursue a pilot career after I joined.  If you want to be a military pilot, I'd say your best bet is to look at the Airforce.  Why?  Better aircraft.  Bottom line.  If you like old helicopters, you probably have ...
