I know this is an older thread - but just wanted to remind anyone coming to the USA for flying lessons that one of the things to consider is WEATHER. It can be irritating to sign up for lessons on a tight timeframe and be unable to fly due to poor weather conditions and they vary a LOT from area to area.

Hard to tell from the picture but I believe that is part of the detent spring for one of the switches. It gives a firmer feel to each of positions. However their is no reference in the service manual for that part?
