Airbus, which has low markst share in Japan comapred to Boeing (32 vs 134 for ANA and 34 vs 152 for JAL), could have its disadvantage in Japan changed, because of the launch of A380 super-jumbo, which is highly suited to high density Japanese market and has increased involvement of Japanese subcontractors in the project.
"When other companies begin flying to Japan with A380s ... Japanese carriers won't really have any choice," said Patrice Parise, director of civil aviation programmes at France's civil aviation authority, DGAC.
