Realistically, still possible to become a pilot?

Realistically, still possible to become a pilot?

I am 22, and do not yet have a degree. The reasons are fairly numerous and boring, however the most relevant one may be that I did poorly in high school. Recently I have been considering joining the Air Force, and briefly looking at it, the situation seemed to be that I could join as enlisted, enter the program to get a bachelor's and become an officer, and then just out-compete my peers for a pilot's position.

However, from reading around forums, this one included, I see that people are preparing for this from age 15 and still there is apprehension about their eligibility.

I have no doubts that I would be able to excel on any test or in any course that was presented to me, and I have maintained a 4.0 for the past two semesters, although admittedly it is only a community college.

Basically, I'm asking anyone with inside knowledge what the feasibility of my plan is.

    Thanks.

Edit: Wow, you guys must be sick to death of these threads. I would suggest making a sticky with a summary of the information that would answer most of the questions asked by people like me.
