The preference of long haul economy classes

Some airlines, like United, Continental, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, set up Economy Plus classes to make long haul trips more comfortable. But the number of such seats are limited, and their fares are much higher than that of Economy Class, except United, which only Star Alliance high grade members and passengers pyaing full fare ticket can get a Economy Plus class seat.

This makes most passengers have to suffer Economy Class seats of narrow seat pitch, only 31" for the airlines mentioned above.

Because of this, some airlines, like American, US Airways and Malaysia Airlines, do not set up Economy Plus class, and increase the seat pitch of Economy Class to 33-34", to make everyone can have more comfortable long haul trips.

I think increasing seat pitch of Economy Class is much better than setting up Economy Plus class, as this ensures comfort for all passengers.

Ho do you think? Which is better?

    1. Not increasing seat pitch of Economy Class, and set up a separate Economy Plus class.

    2. Increasing seat pitch of Economy Class instead of setting up a separate Economy Plus Class.
