Hello,
I'm currently 18 and planning on doing Army ROTC in college - my goal in the Army is to fly helicopters, specifically the AH-64, though no matter what I end up flying (if, hopefully, I do), I'll be satisfied and peform my duties to the max.
I've heard that commissioned officers in the Army don't do the flying, leaving that for the Warrant Officers. Is that true, or do commissioned officers still fly? What do aviation officers in the Army do if not the flying?
Also, about eyesight - I am nearsighted (I don't know my exact prescription, but it's not good) and currently wear glasses, which correct the vision in both my eyes to 20/20. I'm planning on getting LASIK or PRK later as well - but I've heard that this disqualifies you. Or is that not actually true?
Thanks people.
