geeze, dosen't anyone here even have a guess?  All you people who are pilots should at least be able to venture a guess...I mean the very basics of flight are based on physics.  Any help would be greatly appreciated...this is extra credit for my physics class!!!!  HELP!!!

Does anyone know why a plane needs 70% of its take off speed by the time it reaches the halfway point of its total take off distance???
