Dear Mooniacs,

also in the Mooney-community the topic Diesel-engine-conversion always stays a very hot topic. But like with many other models, this discussion is not very fertile, because there is currently no engine that would fulfill all the demands regarding performace, efficiency and weight for the M20-series.

This situation is what we - the European Mooney-Community (http://www.mooney.de) - would like to change and therefor got in touch with some potential Diesel-engine-converters. But before we can start thinking about a potential conversion seriuosly, we need to know about who is interested in such a conversion and which criterias regarding the new engines would be important to the Mooney-pilots. This data will be the basis for our conversations with the engine-developers, so that we can think together about the potential possibilities we might have.

For this reason we added a new website on www.mooney.de, which should become the central contact point about the current progress of this campaign and provide you with all the news and information. Currently we provide a link on that website, where you can take part on the desribed survey to collect the data mentioned above, where we would like to invite you as well. Furthermore we would be very thankful if you could also inform as many Mooniacs as possible about our mission, because the success of this mission is very dependant on the number of potential interested parties.
