I would like to have discussions on widebody aircraft seating classes.
Widebody aircfrats generally have more comfortable seats than those of single aisles because of longer distance covered for widebodies.
In 1980's standard the widebody aircraft First Class seats have seat pitch of 60", width of 20-21", that is, 5-abreast for B767, 6-abreast for A300/A310/A330/A340/B777. The Business class have seat pitch of 40" & width of 18-20", that is, 6-abreast for B767/A300/A310/A330/A340, 7-abreast for B777/B747 & A300/A310 used for short haul routes.
But the Business Class & First Class seats of most flag carriers are upgraded to make them more comfortable & hence more attractive to passengers. Most flag carriers have business class of 50"+ seat pitch & width of 20".
Some airlines, like Cathay Pacific & Virgin Atlantic, have Business class of 60" seat pitch & uses seats with sidewalls for extra privacy. The seats can be turned to an inclined bed of 75" long.
British Airways B777 has the best business class seats in the world, with 8-abreast forward - backward configuration & each seat provided with screens, like that of First Class. The seats have seat pitch of 70" (!!!), so passengers can have fully flat bed like the first class. This also eliminates the problem of being sitted in the middle seat, a problem found on any other B777/B747 of 7-abreast business class.
The first class seats of most flag carriers have seat pitch of 75"+, and have fewer seats per row, like 4-abreast for B767 & 5-abreast for A300/A310/A330/A340. There are more & more airlines changing the first class cabin to 4-abreast seats with screens / cradles for each passenger, to ensure total privacy for each passenger.
