Is Civil Air Patrol something that i may be interested in?

I'm currently a "student", i guess, i have an instructor, and i'm learning to fly Cessna-150s, and soon going to be taking a test for ground school. Will this help if i'd like to attend CAP, or strengthen my chance to get into the woft program?
