My question applies not just to the Sabreliner (my favorite aircraft due to it's military roots), but corporate jets in general. If you can by a 30 year old corporate jet like the above for $350k+- with ~9,000 tot hrs, what are the odds that it would still be airworthy? At that price, is it just salvage?...which brings me to my second question: What would a complete overhaul cost? I am trying to find costs of refurbed GE or Garrett turbofans and can't find anything on the web.
