The European short haul business class are not as comfortable as short faul business class seats of other places, like Asia and Americas. The business class cabins in both Asia and Americas are of 4-abreast design, having seat pitch of at least 38", thus offering no middle seat for passengers and much better comfort than economy class.
But most business class cabins in Europe are of 5-abreast design, and they are converted from economy class by just changing seat width, and in some cases seat pitch. Some airlines even have business class seats same as economy class seats, just with the middle seat not occupied. How money cheating it is!!
So I think there would be large market in Europe if there is an airline offering 4-abreast short haul business class layout and larger seat pitch like that of USA.
But why no European airline except Portugalia, the only European airline offering 4-abreast permanent business class of 38" seat pitch, do so to make better passenger service?
