There are lots of low cost airlines in USA, like Jetblue & Southwest Airlines. They keep the cost low by flying only one family of aircrafts (A320 for Jetblue & B737 for Southwest), paperless ticketing (passengers would receive a confirmation number after booking via phone or online, no print tickets), providing only snacks free of charge & no meals, not operating lounges nor frequent flyer programmes.
These airlines are proved to be very popular in USA because of low fare.
Such airlines can also be found in Europe & Austraila (Virgin Blue).
But there is no such airline in Asia & HK, so passengers have to pay quite a lot for air travel, even for short trips needing no lounges nor meals.
So a problem rises: Does HK & Asia need USA-style low cost airlines?
Thanks for discussion.
