A question about the Air Force Reserve

If someone joined the Selected Reserve with an eight year agreement, and then wanted to transfer to active duty after they had served, say three years, could they then transfer to active duty with an 5 year agreement to active duty, or would they have to agree to serve for another ten years?

Where are you pulling "10 years" from?

It would depend on what your contract said, I assume.

I am pulling 10 years from what you said.

You said that to become a pilot in the USAF I would have to sign a ten year agreement.

I'm not quite sure about that.

From what I was told, I believe pilot training in the USAF requires a ten-year commitment from the date you get your wings...but prior service my effect that.  Ask someone in AF Personnel Command, would be my suggestion.
